Industry Academia Expert Lecture Week being observed during 20th – 24th March, 2023 in the Aerospace Engineering Department of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) Chandigarh was concluded today. Six experts from reputed organizations such as BOEING, ISRO, RCMA (DRDO), Honeywell Solutions, IIT Bombay etc. delivered invited expert talks and shared their experience during the week.
On the concluding day, three expert talks/interactions were held. Sh. Harsha R.M. (Lead Engineer, Boeing, Bangalore) shared his experience at BOEING and presented an overview & future prospects of the Aerospace Industry. Dr. Pankaj Priyadarshi (Group Director & Principal Scientist, VSSC, ISRO, Thiruvananthapuram) interacted with Aerospace students and delivered an expert lecture on ‘Launch Vehicle Stage Recovery’. Dr. Rabindra Prasad (Amity University, Gwalior) delivered his talk on ‘Friction stir welding/processing of alloys and composites’ and shared its potential application for aircraft structures.
Earlier, Sh. Deepak Lekhi from RCMA (DRDO) had delivered his talk on ‘Aircraft Safety’ and while concluding his talk with a social message advocating for the prevention of “light pollution”. Dr. Jeppu Yogananda from Honeywell Technology Solutions, Bangalore had delivered his talk on 21.3.23 on ‘Developing Aero Control Systems’. Dr. R.K. Pant (Professor, IIT Bombay, Mumbai) had delivered an expert talk on 22.3.23 on ‘Sustainable Aviation’ and expressed the importance of green fuel in aviation.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar (Head, Aerospace Engineering Department) highlighted the relevance of this INDUSTRY ACADEMIA EXPERT interaction for possible tie-ups with industry and research/academic organizations which may be helpful in internship & job opportunities for students and project tie-ups for faculty. Dr. Rakesh Kumar thanked experts for their contributions by awarding mementos to the experts, distributing certificates to the students & organizing team. Dr. Rakesh Kumar thanked Director PEC, Prof. Baldev Setia for his continued support & guidance during the conduct of such academic events.
