Programme Educational Objectives (PEO’s) PG Programme- M.Tech. (Industrial Materials and Metallurgy)

  1. The Post Graduates will have knowledge in depth about the principles and practices in Materials & Metallurgy, and will have applied their Material development skills and knowledge of foundational principles to the design and implementation of practical systems.
  2. The Post Graduates will be successfully employed in the core and allied field of Materials & Metallurgy industry, and will be actively engaged in learning, understanding, and applying new ideas and technologies as the field evolves; or will have successfully completed, or be actively pursuing, research in various specializations in Metallurgy.
  3. The science-based engineering education will be imparted to develop professional skills that will prepare the students for immediate employment in the relevant industries, research organization & academic institutions.
  4. The design capability among students will be developed so that they have the ability to participate in creative, synthetic & integrative activities in the relevant field.
  5. The breadth of knowledge will be imparted so that they have familiarity with many important technical areas in other branches of engineering.
  6. The ability to apply in depth knowledge will be enhanced in one or more specializations within the Materials & Metallurgical engineering.
  7. The communication skills will be developed so that the students are able to express ideas clearly and persuasively, in written and oral forms.
  8. The awareness of, and the competence to be savvy users of information technology will be developed among students.
  9. The ability to design and perform experiments in the Materials & Metallurgy will be developed to acquire the ability to interpret and evaluate experimental results.
  10. The culture among students to work with others, in professional and social settings will be developed.
  11. To create among students the curiosity, the desire and the ability to keep learning throughout life.
  12. To develop an understanding among students of the human, social and business context in which they will utilize their engineering skills.
  13. To develop a global view among students so that they can appreciate diversity in the world and in intellectual pursuits.

PO 01

Ability to attain, identify and apply knowledge of mathematics, science & engineering in Materials & Metallurgical Engineering discipline to the solution of various engineering problems.

PO 02

Ability to design metallurgical & Materials systems, components or processes so as to meet desired needs within realistic constraints like service condition, manufacturability etc.

PO 03

Ability to use techniques, skills and modern engineering tools so as to implement them in engineering practice.

PO 04

Ability to understand social, ethical, global, environmental responsibilities & contemporary issues for the benefit of the society.

Ability to communicate effectively in multi-disciplinary teams on various issues & engage in lifelong learning.
