The Music Club of PEC University of Technology (formerly Punjab Engineering College) presented on Friday, 26th March 2010, their eagerly awaited even-semester event ENCORE. This was done under the headship of the club's General Secretary Geet Srivastava and the Joint Club Secretary Saurabh. People thronged into the auditorium half an hour before the actual start of the event. The Director, Dr. Manoj Datta, along with other faculty members was also present. With everyone anticipating the event, the musical evening started with a group song "Give me some sunshine", which was followed by several remarkable performances.
Astha Maheshwari's voice resounded the auditorium as she sang "Ik tara". A group song "Tu jaane na" was also performed by members. "Dil toh baccha hai" was sung beautifully by Tajinder. The audience was cheering up the performers and raising their enthusiasm by giving their appraisal via loud clapping and cheering. "Dama dam mast kalandar" by Gagandeep raised sufi environment and made everyone
remember Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Flawless instrumentals by Paras, Charandeep, Pulkit, Kshitiz and Vaibhav were the backbone of the the performances. The evening had it's share of old classics with Anumeha Bhasker singing Asha Bhosle's evergreen "Aao huzur tumko" in her beautiful voice. Being impressed greatly by her voice, she was given a standing ovation by the audience. The highlights of the event included covers of the popular Coldplay song "Yellow" and Porcupine Tree's"Lazarus" by Geet Srivastava, Vinayak Talwar and Paras, who had the crowd singing with them, as they concluded the event.
