The next two days consisted of presentations by the different clubs, technical societies, sports department, NSS, NCC, etc. which helped the students get an in-depth understanding of the same and their working in our college.
Thanksgiving Function
The positive start saw the first year students responding with equal warmth and enthusiasm by organizing a Thanksgiving Function for their teachers and senior students who had put in loads of effort to familiarize them with the college. The function comprised of enthralling performances by the talented first year students.
Hostel Function
This function was restricted to a single hostel this year. The function saw the residents of Kalpana Chawla girls hostel brewing up a concoction of cultural and fun events in a unique manner as they created a milieu and enthralled the audience. Be it in the form of a skit, a dance or a burlesque, some talent or the other could be seen emerging with each performance.
Pecfest 4th Dimension (2nd,3rd and 4th November)
As the cold winds swept past the tress of PEC, calling forth the season of winter, along came PECFest. The fest saw college going students turning up from all corners and participating in the 108 events. The 3 major events that were the highlight of the fest was Groovz, a high stake competitive dance competition, Gliteratti, a fashion show where glam and beauty was at their best, for all the young renegades and rebels of today, the TNT Rocknite saw the best of rock bands in the country battle it for glory and the most awaited of all events was the Star Nite, which featured the Punjabi legend and public heart stopper, Gurdaas Mann.
But there was a lot more that this fest held for everyone. Fun events such as Go-Karting, Treasure Hunt, Salsa Workshops and Quizzes were conducted. A few days prior to the fest, A road show was organized by the college students themselves who jumped on to their cars and bikes, put the pedal to the metal and zoomed off in a cavalcade that visited various colleges all over Chandigarh, promoting the fest and giving an informal invitation to all around them. This fest was called the 4th Dimension and rightfully so as it looked to break free from the shackles of the 3 dimensional world that we have been confined to and rediscover the 4th Dimension, the dimension in which each and every individual’s body, mind and soul was put into, the dimension where each one was tested to his/her own limit, the dimension that had been long forgotten, the dimension we call PECFest. This is why, the motto of this fest was ‘ Body. Mind. Four’.
