Sports Meet at PEC University of Technology (11-13 March 2010)

 

The three day, 63rd athletics meet at PEC University of Technology commenced on 11th March 2010. Director, Dr Manoj Datta was the chief guest for the meet. PEC Students marked the opening ceremony with the march past. The faculty members were present to encourage the students. The meet started with the grueling 5,000 meters for boys. Other events that took place during the first day were: Shot put, 800m, discuss throw, broad jump, high jump, 1000m cycling time trial and cycling 4500m.. Events lined up for the second day included the 10,000m for boys and the 100m races for both boys and girls. Sh. Anurag Agarwal and Sh. Dhirender Tayal on behalf of PEC Alumnus, Mr. Ajay Kadiyan, in the memory of Mr. Prem Kadiyan presented Kadiyan memorial award and a cheque of Rs. 5000 to Miss Harleen kaur, who secured the first position in 100m gold and was also declared best athlete amongst girls. Atinderpal Singh was declared the best athlete amongst boys. Dr. Manoj Datta, Director, PEC gave away the medals, prizes and certificates to the winners. The prize distribution ceremony was followed by the march past. The meet witnessed packed crowd and the events tested the endurance of all the athletes

1000m cycling time trial boys’: 1st: Amit Thakur, 2nd: Parveen, 3rd: Ccharandeep. Cycling 4500m boys’: 1st: Parveen, 2nd: Ajay, 3rd: Charandeep.
