PEC - PECOSA Collaboration

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between PEC University of Technology (PEC) represented by the Director, Prof Manoj Datta and Punjab Engineering College Old Students Association, Chandigarh (PECOSA), represented by its President Dr. Dharinder Tayal on 9th June 2009. Padmashree Chander Mohan, Chairman, Board of Governors and distinguished alumnus, Deans and members of executive committee of PECOSA were also present during the occasion.

As per the agreement, PEC and PECOSA will strive to enhance the efforts of the university to promote interaction with the present students in various ways such as delivering expert lectures, technical collaboration in projects, academic collaborations, meetings and reunions, honouring distinguished alumni,  alumni family visits to PEC and thus supporting university in its growth oriented activities. PEC University of Technology has a strong base of alumni that have distinguished themselves in almost all spheres of activities, and have brought laurels to the university.  At present there are at least three organizations of alumni.  One of them has base in Chandigarh and is known as Punjab Engineering College Old Student Association (PECOSA).  Another one is Punjab Engineering College Old Boys Association (PECOBA) registered in Delhi.  A third one is based in the USA and is called PEC Alumni Society (PALS).  In addition, other groups may also be in existence. All these associations / societies are helping the alumni of this prestigious institution to keep a track of each other.  These associations / societies have instituted some scholarships for the students of the College.  They organize frequent get-togethers at their own level or help the PEC to organize such Alumni reunions / meets in the PEC campus.  Keeping in view the fact that PECOSA is based in Chandigarh and has been helping PEC in organizing various activities relating to alumni in the university, a need has been felt to sign an MOU with PECOSA for enhancing this cooperation for mutual benefits and the same is being signed.

As per the agreement the Coordination Committee to monitor and review the collaborative programme between the two organizations will consist of  Director, PEC or his nominee, President, PECOSA or his nominee(s)and Coordinators from PEC & PECOSA. The Coordination Committee shall review the progress of the identified programs.
