IEEE Student Branch of PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh in association with Robochamps and Coding Blocks held its annual technical event, Techadroit 2017 from 18th to 19th March 2017 within the college campus. A plethora of technical events were conducted which let the students to showcase their skills by engaging in healthy competition. The event gathered participation from students in and around the tricity.
The Hardware Hackathon conducted in association with Texas Instruments and IEEE Delhi Section, the first of its kind to be held in Chandigarh served as the major attraction for the event with the theme being Smart City Chandigarh. IEEE PEC further took the initiative to organise a mini-hardware hackathon for young school students. The budding engineers converted their innovative ideas to building prototypes such as smart dustbin, smart garden, efficient traffic light systems, while the junior participants proved that age is no boundary for knowledge by creating projects like the line follower, dancing LED, counters, etc.
The competitions at Techadroit ranged from coding contests to developing a robot and from image processing to technical blog writing. To test the technical knowledge of the students, there was the rapid fire quizzing round as well. Many of the events were based on an exciting theme thus increasing the zeal amongst the students and pushing them more to come up with unique and innovative solutions.
The event culminated with a valedictory ceremony. Prof. (Dr.) Gurnam Singh, ex-Deputy Director of PEC Univeristy of Technology, Chandigarh was the Honorable Chief Guest for the occasion. He endorsed the competitive spirit of young minds and motivated them to further develop on their ideas since the contributions made by them will shape the future of technology.
