Blood Donation camp in collaboration with PGIMER
NSS group of PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh organized a Blood Donation camp in collaboration with PGIMER, Chandigarh at PEC auditorium on March 15, 2017.
The PGI doctors arrived at 8:00 A.M. and the donation process commenced at 8:30 AM. Dr. S. B. Deepak Kumar, IAS, State Technical Education, Chandigarh Administration graced the event with his presence.
Dr. S. B. Deepak Kumar, the Chief Guest, accompanied by Dr. Manoj K Arora, Director, PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh, Dr.Perminderjit Singh, Dean Student Affairs, and the student co-coordinator of NSS (PEC) visited the site, followed by words of wisdom by the Director and the Chief Guest. They encouraged the donors for contributing to this noble cause and appreciated the efforts put in by the University.
A felicitation ceremony was also held where the 'Star Donors' i.e. the people who have donated blood at least thrice in the past were presented with t-shirts and the other donors with notebooks. This move left the students cheerful and motivated. In all, there were a total of 54 star donors among students and 07 among the faculty.
The event was sponsored by SBI, Bulls Eye and Abhimanyu classes. The Blood Donation camp ended on a high note with collection of 195 units of blood, 33 by female donors and 162 by male donors.
