Alumni Meet 2011 (24 Dec, 2011)

More than ­­350 alumni of PEC University of Technology, converged at their alma mater on 24th December, 2011, for the Alumni Meet organized by PECOSA (Punjab Engineering College Old Students Association) in association with PEC University of Technology. The chief guest at the occasion was Mr. Harbans Singh, an Alumnus of the 1943 batch. PECOSA president Mr. Anurag Aggarwal welcomed the PEC alumni on the occasion and said it was momentous occasion for PEC to have its former students converge in such a large number. Director Dr. Manoj Datta gave a presentation about the growth of the Institute and also discussed about the ongoing projects in the college. He thanked the alumni for encouraging the students by means of awards, scholarships, travel grants, etc. The passing out batches of 1962 (Golden Jubilee), 1977 (35 years), 1987 (Silver Jubilee) and 1997 (15 years) were felicitated. A sumptuous meal awaited them at their favourite Shivalik Hostel. Mr. Anurag Aggarwal and Dr. Manoj Datta released an Alumni Directory on the occasion as the college completed 90 years. The Directory contains the contact details of almost 1300 alumni. The spouses and children of the alumni had their share of fun and entertainment by playing games like tug of war, antakshari, tambola in the cricket ground. At night, the Alumni were entertained by live music, dance, cultural program and fireworks. Rock band was also there to make the night musical. Dinner was served along with nostalgic memories. “Can't miss out on this one. It’s here we became who we are and made lasting friends,” said BS Grewal, an Alumnus of the 1943, who had come a long way to attend the event. “It was a rare opportunity to reminisce on the old times and find out more about what is happening in the College”  said another Alumnus.
